With the festivities now coming to an end, your drinks cabinet will no doubt be filled with odds and ends. And while you may have made a sizable dent in a good selection of the spirits, keeping an inch or two of liqueur just seems pointless. This is why today, we at Mobile Bar Hire have put together a few ideas; sharing ways in which you can make use of that leftover drink.

Sherry

Sherry is one of those drinks that everyone buys at Christmas but seldom uses. Where Nan and Grandad may have a few glasses, the majority of the bottle goes unused. If you are struggling for space in the drinks cupboard then why not use up the Sherry by making a round of Beet and Sherry Bloody Mary cocktails. Offering an unusual twist on the classic Bloody Mary, this drink is delicious and makes use of your leftovers. To make the drink, simply mix together the following:

  • Tomato juice
  • Beetroot juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sherry
  • Lemon
  • Celery

Baileys

Is there anything more Christmassy than Baileys on the rocks?

While a stunning, indulgent drink, the cream content means it should be used up quickly. So, if you have any left over, we recommend adding a touch to your coffee or Hot Chocolate, transforming an evening tipple into a yummy, hot beverage.

Red wine

Though a drop in the gravy won’t harm it, there are many ways to use up the ends of red wine bottle. One way is with the San Francisco Sangaree; a great cocktail to serve on New Year’s Eve! Being strong, decadent and truly scrumptious, the cocktail is created from mixing and straining the below:

  • bourbon
  • lemon slice
  • cherries
  • syrup
  • merlot

Port

Port is another one of those drinks that tends to get used just around Christmas. However, there are many other ways to enjoy the drink than straight with a wedge of cheese. One of our favourites is the Port and Cranberry explosion; a celebration of sweet and tart flavours.

To mix the drink, blend together:

  • London dry gin
  • port
  •  lemon juice
  • Cinnamon
  • Cranberry preserves

So, there you have it; our top ways to make use of Christmas’ drink leftovers! If you have any creative ways of utilising booze waste, share them with us.
